Louisville Leads the Nation in AP Poll: Jan 14th, 2013

Louisville is the new number one team in men's basketball, according to the AP Poll, replacing Duke who drops to #3.

Louisville grabs the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at Seton Hall, 73-58. After that came another win at home against South Florida, 64-38. Duke lost their number one ranking with a win against Clemson, 68-40 and a loss to then-20th ranked NC State, 84-76. Oregon breaks into the Top 25 at #21 with an upset win at home over then-4th ranked Arizona, 70-66 and a win at home over Arizona State, 68-65. Virginia Commonwealth comes in at #22 with wins against St. Bonaventure, 72-65 and Dayton, 74-62. UCLA shows up at #24 with wins against Colorado, 78-75 and Utah, 57-53. Marquette also enters the Top 25 at #25. Georgetown falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss at home to Pittsburgh, 73-45 and a win at St. John's, 67-51. Cincinnati drops out after a win against Rutgers, 68-58 and a loss to then-17th ranked Notre Dame, 66-60. Wichita State drops out after a win against Southern Illinois, 82-76 and a loss to Evansville, 71-67. UNLV also drops out this week.
